This Delaware, Lackawanna and Western passenger train is seen detouring through Pittston, PA. Ed Miller took the photo from the nearby culm pile.
The EMD E8 and B-A-B-A set of F-units lead the train eastbound on the Bloomsburg Branch, about to cross the Lehigh Valley Mountain Cutoff, on their way to Scranton. The train came west down the Mountain Cutoff to Coxton, then reversed through the interchange track seen at the base of the culm pile. They then pulled forward on the Bloom towards Scranton. |
