| Lehigh Valley ALCO RS11 #403 was first painted new Cornell red on October 20, 1972. It only ran a couple of months before being in a collision which crumpled its long hood. A replacement long hood was possibly purchased from a Chesapeake and Ohio RSD12 which had a totally different filter arrangement. It was painted again and released from Sayre Shops in April 1973. Pictures like this of it in new Cornell red with its original hood are somewhat rare. |
