| Lehigh Valley ALCO RS11 #403 was first painted new Cornell red on October 20, 1972. It only ran a couple of months before being in a collision which crumpled its long hood. A replacement long hood was possibly purchased from a Chesapeake and Ohio RSD12 which had a totally different filter arrangement. It was painted again and released from Sayre Shops in April 1973. This picture shows the replaced long hood with Cornell red. |
