Late afternoon at Cranford, NJ in 1974 and 1975 usually found lots of train activity. There was the usual afternoon westbound commuter trains and Elizabethport tried to get two westbound freights through as well. These two were the ES99 (usually with EL pooled power) and JH1 (usually with Reading pooled power). Add to this would be the CNJ road local LE-2 (Lake Junction to Elizabethport). LE-2 was usually all CNJ power and commonly one SD and one RS3.
The home signal at EXCEE Tower is displaying a Medium Clear aspect for the LE-2 to cross over. |
