| A Sunday school special excursion run to the picnic / amusement park at the north end of Harveys Lake on the Bowmans Branch used a pair of Baldwin DS 4-4-1000 switchers on this day in 1951. Lehigh Valley #140 is the trailing locomotive with LV #141 being on the other end. Special passenger trains to Harveys Lake from Wilkes-Barre or Pittston were fairly common in the summers for many years. Track structure restricted the power to small locomotives. |
